The Home Inspectors Manual - Phase Inspections

Phase Inspections - Getting Started

A member called the other day to ask about how to get started doing phase inspections. Since I'm trying out my new phone recording equipment I recorded the call. If you have any interest in adding this type of service to your home inspection company - this may be for you.

The recording has some bleed through on the lines that makes my voice reverb just a tad. Now I just have to figure out what knob on this new fangled equipment separates the lines better.

How many deficiencies can you note from the photo? Two are really easy, the third is a stumper unless you know the location and function of the clip and why this would be the wrong one for the job. I'll give you the location, top plate to bird board, the filler between the trusses at the roof edge.

Just to make this interesting, can you catch the other blantant mistake I made in the conversation? It has to do with nail sizing. Oh well, I bet if you listened to yourself for a half hour you'd like to take some things back too.
