Home Inspection Postage Pizzaz

When you're tying to get noticed or generate a bit of buzz - get outrageous with your marketing ideas. Your recipient or target audience has to have something interesting to pass around if you want word of mouth advertising to work. Something novel - like your own postage stamp.

Yeh, it costs money, but what doesn't. I bought 200 stamps for $155.00. That roughly equates to about 40 cents per impression. But let me ask you this, when was the last time a refrigerator magnet caused you to take a second look and talk about it with your friends?

The custom postage stamp may not be held onto physically, but it will mentally. If it's any good, your stamp will be remembered as one of the few custom stamps that your client or Realtor has seen. This rarity stirs the pot so to speak for the word of mouth campaign. Being different will get you noticed over and over again.

Now for the hard part - what to put on the stamp. It can't just be your logo, it needs some sort of "pizzaz." A statement, quote, or graphic design that causes a pause in their thinking. A little something extra to cause them to talk about your stamp instead of just mentally filing it away.

Mixing up your marketing bag with little gimmicks like this is what will keep your name fresh in the minds of your intended target audience. I'm not suggesting that you use custom postage with all your correspondence, but it may be just the ticket for a campaign or two each year.

By the way, anyone notice the grammatical mistake in the stamp? I should know by now that I need someone else to proof read my writing.

The company I choose to make my stamps Zazzle has a great interface for building a custom stamp. The process was straight forward and easy. I'd suggest that each campaign (large mailings) have a different stamp to keep the pot stirred.
